Slate Masks
2025
Slate Masks are made by cutting the slate using diamond drills and saws before finishing the cut edges with a sandblaster to imbue an eroded look to the cuts. Masks with large cut outs that reduce the stone’s structural integrity are reinforced by fiberglass. Fiberglass reinforcement is a standard technique in the stone trade, this backing is intentionally left visible within the cut-outs, transforming a purely structural solution into an ornamental signature.
These masks were shown as part of Basic Instinct in November 2025.
