Each Stone Rose head is composed of ten delicately sliced petals, hewn from quartz stones native to the North Shore of Long Island and Connecticut—remnants of the Laurentide Ice Sheet’s retreat some 18,000 years ago.

Quartz, a stone of remarkable hardness, possesses a crystalline structure that comes alive when illuminated from within. Our Stone Rose, while reminiscent of Pierre Chareau’s Fleur light, diverges in its material essence. Where the Fleur is crafted from alabaster—a softer stone requiring thicker petals—the quartz, though far more demanding to shape, yields petals of unparalleled thinness and grace.

The rose heads are held by sculptural brass stems, their joints first secured with structural silver solder. Then through an innovative technique, solder is meticulously layered upon these joints, then ground to achieve transitions of exquisite softness, marrying strength with elegance.

Available in a variety of configurations including sconces, table and floor lights. Each rose is unique due to availability of stones.
