Made for “Make-Do” organized by Marta and Catalog Sale, an exhibition of twenty-four historic and contemporary ad-hoc chairs, held in alignment with NYC×Design.

The Pineal Lobotomy chair is designed with triangular joints that accommodate three linear members, each crafted from repurposed steel stands originally produced for our Third Eye Vessels in 2014. With the stone “third eye,” or pineal gland, removed, these joints lend the chair its distinctive name.

The wood branches were gathered from Bush Terminal park during a tree trimming and the ropes used to weave the seats are left over from our piece for Brooklyn Botanical Garden’s “For the Birds” exhibition. Each element harmonizes to create a piece that reflects our commitment to sustainability and artistry.
