OTHR – Tulip Vase

2017

3D Printed Matte Black Steel, 3D Printed Gloss White Porcelain.

The Tulip Vase was only made in an edition of 5 and was available exclusively from OTHR as part of Vanguard Series selected by Murray Moss and presented at Collective Design Fair.

This modular structural scaffold holds bulb-like vases for individual flowers. Inspired by Dutch pyramid vases of the 1600s which were constructed in layers to overcome technical limitations on size. In the 1600s large ceramic objects could not be made in one piece, in our time 3D printed objects are limited by the size of the printer’s build chamber.
