Geology Transition Mirrors were introduced in 2019 for “Romancing the Stone”, a show at The Future Perfect, New York. The unconventional method of construction left many viewers speculating on how the stones were fused “into” the glass. The construction of these cabinets allows the viewer to interact with the stone and mirror compositions in 360°. Opening the doors showcases the beautiful and meticulous construction of these compositions.
Available in a variety of sizes and available for customization. Exclusively distributed by The Future Perfect.

Slate Masks are made by cutting the slate using diamond drills and saws before finishing the cut edges with a sandblaster to imbue an eroded look to the cuts. Masks with large cut outs that reduce the stone’s structural integrity are reinforced by fiberglass. Fiberglass reinforcement is a standard technique in the stone trade, this backing is intentionally left visible within the cut-outs, transforming a purely structural solution into an ornamental signature.
These masks were shown as part of Basic Instinct in November 2025.

The Stone Rose Chandeliers are a expansion of previous smaller versions of the Stone Rose. Along with the increased scale, they are now available with Rose Heads made from agate.
As molten lava cools, bubbles of gas are sealed within the stone. Over time, silica-rich water seeps into these voids, depositing mineral layers one after another, each slow accumulation fixing itself into colorful bands. What remains is an extravagant record of duration, agate.
The rose heads are held by sculptural brass stems, their joints first secured with structural silver solder. Then through an innovative technique, solder is meticulously layered upon these joints, then ground to achieve transitions of exquisite softness, marrying strength with elegance.
Each rose is unique due to availability of stones.

When modern forestry was invented in the 1700s in Prussia, an entire forest was felled and replaced with Norway spruce, aligned in a grid. All undergrowth was removed so that the trees could be more easily counted and measured. eighty years on, the first harvest was good but the monoculture had depleted the soil for a second planting.
The timber used in “Basic Instinct” come from another grid: New York City. These urban trees have been cut down and were condemned to the chipper because the wood was commercially unfit. Either the tree was rotted inside or the pieces were too small to be slabbed. This wood is only useable in a small artisanal level of manufacturing where each piece is examined, not standardized; where irregularity is not a flaw but a distinction.
This chair was made from a maple tree that was once stood before 245 23rd Street, Brooklyn. It was felled in June of 2023 because the core of the tree had already rotted out. Once the rotted wood was removed, a complex shape remained that looked like part of a chair. The log was further coaxed to realize this function. In deliberate counterpoint to the wood’s texture and organic silhouette, a gridded seat of oak was introduced, accompanied by legs in aluminum and stainless steel: materials of order set gently against a body shaped by time.
“Modern Forestry” was exhibited as part of “Basic Instinct” at The Future Perfect in November 2025.
Urethane based composite containing wood, fabric, rope, etc. cut, tumbled smooth and dipped in epoxy.
The Nugget Drawer Pull is a larger version of the Nugget Keychain. Each piece is unique and random, made from cut offs of larger projects. We try to create a closed loop in our studio where we find uses for all waste we create. Images are of examples, the shipped piece may not resemble the ones pictured. We will select the most interesting one we have at the moment and include a hand drawn diagram of the contents. If any colors are to be avoided, please reply to the order confirmation email.

Each individual Geology piece is unique due to process and availability of stones.
Transition refers to the raw edge of the silver as well as silver’s classification as a transition metal (in the d block of the periodic table of elements). The mirrors are made by first UV bonding stones to a clear piece of glass. To create the mirror surface, a silver nitrate solution is poured onto the glass and chemically bonds to the surface. Not enough silver solution is mixed on purpose so that the pool of silver leaves a random live edge that fades to clear.
On the back side, the decorative stones also act as the anchoring points for the steel mounting brackets which hang it on the wall. While the piece carries an ornate quality, it subtly adheres to Modernist principles, where structural elements are seamlessly integrated into the design as decorative features.

Each Stone Rose head is composed of ten delicately sliced petals, hewn from quartz stones native to the North Shore of Long Island and Connecticut—remnants of the Laurentide Ice Sheet’s retreat some 18,000 years ago.
Quartz, a stone of remarkable hardness, possesses a crystalline structure that comes alive when illuminated from within. Our Stone Rose, while reminiscent of Pierre Chareau’s Fleur light, diverges in its material essence. Where the Fleur is crafted from alabaster—a softer stone requiring thicker petals—the quartz, though far more demanding to shape, yields petals of unparalleled thinness and grace.
The rose heads are held by sculptural brass stems, their joints first secured with structural silver solder. Then through an innovative technique, solder is meticulously layered upon these joints, then ground to achieve transitions of exquisite softness, marrying strength with elegance.
Available in a variety of configurations including sconces, table and floor lights. Each rose is unique due to availability of stones.

Each “shelf” is a modest yet deliberate stone composition set upon a glass canvas, designed to invite interaction—a space for the user to contribute an object and complete its narrative.
Vascular shelves are crafted by UV-bonding stones to a circle of glass. These stones are then linked by a bespoke stainless steel armature, which seamlessly integrates into a linear network of powder-coated steel, creating a harmonious interplay of materiality and form.
Vascular Shelves are available exclusively through The Future Perfect.

Caviar Sconces direct an illuminated lens onto a textured surface, crafting a portal into another realm. The black granules, reminiscent of caviar, are composed of steel shot—an industrial sanding material—bound together with epoxy. An open-faced mold shapes the sconce’s back with precise technical form, while the top surface is left to chance, shaped by the freefall of the “caviar” granules. This duality—material both shaped and self-forming—embodies our design philosophy of collaborating with materials, allowing their inherent nature to guide the process.
Since its inception, the sconce has evolved to incorporate other materials: pyrite, quartz, brass globules, sand, and garnet, each adding its own voice to the conversation between form and substance.
Each piece is unique due to process.

The product of a years-long collaboration with Craighill, the Sidewinder is an enigmatic kinetic sculpture moonlighting as a knife.
Named for the oscillating tracks left in the sand by its serpentine namesake, motion is at the core of the Sidewinder Knife’s design philosophy. Rather than a fixed handle, it has an interlocking mechanical hilt, with two opposing elements moving in sympathy with the blade itself to produce a truly unique unsheathing mechanism.
Formed entirely of stone washed and black PVD-coated stainless steel, the Sidewinder boasts a heft that feels authoritative in the hand, but never unwieldy. It’s perfectly pocketable, but remains equally content to be displayed on a desk, a shelf, or a mantle, proudly soaking in the wonder and admiration its curious form will undoubtedly attract.
